It supposed to be the 1st of May for the May day celebrations - but it's just some thing I really don't like from any government. They gave 30th April as the May day. WTF !!!

Sri Lanka got the worst calender year, with hell of holidays - how will Sri Lanka be a developed country ?

Even though the life in Sri Lankan capital Colombo was a mess-up - just like what we have seen Iraq capital when the US marines were shooting the skies for "identified" targets, Sunday was like rain of bullets fired towards the skies with-out any "identified" target.

WOW - for some parents it was a free flowing fire-crackers for their children - what a drama it was. Suddenly there were "un-identified" planes hovering above Colombo skies, in middle of the ICC world cup final where we supposed to won (that was another drama in TV). Sri Lankan love the cricketers and it was a party day for all of us. Even though there were no sudden deaths for any human, it was scary.

I was peacefully looking at the loosing Sri Lankan cricket match - The Final - and a call came to the commandos over the walkie-talkie "be-alert" problem in skies. We just went out from the house to see what it was and got shocked as what we are seeing is just a war in skies.

My question is, why can't we get down surface to air missiles. Yeah we can't shoot in middle of Colombo to crash down or blow-up the planes - but we even can't find where the hell is these black "sesna" type planes. Front-line defense commandos says they can shoot down with a AK47 as the planes flown in  very low tragitery. Well, I don't know where are the snipers in Sri Lankan forces. If I can get a hang on to one of though guns - I think I can shoot them down from my home 15km away.

Yes we are about to celebrate the Singhalese & Hindu New Year (~AVURUDHU). Though it's basically a traditional celebration, people in the country always wait for the holidays. I think it's a "YES" to celebrate these events in the country. But the too many holidays in the country some what worries me - when compared to other countries like US, UK or Singapore.

And again the pace of working in such a developed country and in Sri Lanka as a developing country - we should seriously look at changing some basics thoughts. Most of others will not agree on me - but still we aren't categorized as developed "may be" because of the weak thinking such as "It's a YES - the traditional way".

We all know Sri Lanka is a 3rd world country and we are being dragged and dragged to depths by our own people for being un-ethical, non-updated behaviors.

I know my 3-4 sentences wont do a great deal of changing the mind set of the people, which I think we need to start from the beginning to the top step by step, which I think in my life time wont happen...

But, think about the next few lines.............................................

We all do have a job (FTE or Temp or Contract or PTE...) and we do earn money - ethically

We love to earn more and be richie rich and live like kings but for that should we cheat to our self's ? Others ? for the Country ?

I guess entrepreneurship is better option where we think and make some thing - which will develop our brains, pocket economy and the country as a whole - correct ?

Think - look - understand (atleast try to...) why people cheat ? How many employees/colleagues do you know who does un-ethical work ?

Well, I can't sleep if I do something like that - can you ?

But some people does change for Money, Alcohol or for the Prestige. There are quite a few examples in the country. Some tender boards really pissed me, and I cried from my heart asking my self "WHY" ?

I met a good friend of mine who is an entrepreneur from his birth (I guess) or may be he's a re-birth of Albert Einstein. Well, It's very interesting for me to know a little of LED and it's generational grown on my way home.

Do you know there is a 6 generational age group in LED's - wow I never thought about it & never wanted to learn about it after schooling. I used to create small circuits when I was 7-8years old to see LED's blow in a tendum pace.

And it was really interesting to know even though we use electricity (as a form of energy) to light-up and we measure it in WATT's - there is no such way to measure the luminosity (well we use candle lights as a rule of thumb).

And as he says the next generation of street lights, park lights even the car lamps will be in LED's - WOW (I wanted to see some serious light in LED some time ahead)

Yeah you all know - it wasn't updated and gone a long way after I started the forum. It wasn't too bad either b'coz we got 364 members in the forum despite the dotnetforum for 6000 members.

May be there are few IT administrator who want's to contribute to the community or don't have time to attend a meeting or log-in to the forum to submit an article or they me be "SCARED" as they are not legalized the IT environment.

Take a good guess - We are moving to ITPROFORUM.LK from today. Even though it's not officially released that the site was re-named, we are promoting again with our Microsoft DE (WELA).

Again, we all know people will copy and paste the whole of Microsoft technet articles to get the "MVP" status (hik- we all know who did that).

Well, some times I got in to trouble with my wife scolding me & paying for the food and then realizing I have no money nor haven't bring any ATM cards. That's also fun in a different way (like walking all the way home).

It's public - do you know the Windows Vista Activations is a completely different ball-game from what we know in product activations.

Just to brief you (I am trying to compare the Windows XP activations), NOW you got 2 schemes in activation in VISTA.

1. Key Management Services or KMS
2. Multiple Activation Keys or MAK (individual & proxy)

MAK - Users can activate individually over the Internet and there is a activation limit of 3 times. That's for individuals - for small corporate's with 25 machines or corporate's who don't want to expose all the machines to expose to Internet - MAK proxy will do the needful.

KMS - is set to deploy if the organization has 25 or more Windows Vista machines and it's a centralized mechanism of activating Vista machines. KMS server will check the machine inventory on activation every 180days (WOW!!!).

Do you know why it checks again? be'coz, KMS will give you unlimited activation power regardless of how many activations-per machine you have done, compared to MAK. If the machines you got in the network is not activated within the given period, the machines goes to Reduce Functionality Mode (RFM). RFM will give you 30day grace period - pop'ng up the "please activate" window until the last 3days.

On the last 3days of the grace period - you only can open the web browser (IE7) and the machine will get re-started automatically until you activate. Smart ha to reduce the piracy rate.....

• Can we change the MAK and KMS key ? - yes we can using the eopen.microsoft.com or mvls.microsoft.com sites
• Can we have both MAK and KMS in a single organization ? - yes we can have that kind of a licensing structure, but need to give the local Microsofties prior notice
• Can we hack the activation ? - DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ?????
